## Description

**JOB DESCRIPTION: The Paving Operator is responsible for operating heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner at various construction sites. The Paving Operator must also clean, maintain and secure all equipment as direct policies, procedures and operator manuals.**

**RESPONSIBLITIES:**

1. - **Responsible for the operation of paving machinery to spread, leave, and smooth asphalt or concrete.**

• **Ensure the material meets specific grade and thickness requirements.**
• **Climbs loader, starts engine, shifts gears, presses pedals and turns steering wheel to operate loader**
• **Moves levers to lower and tilt bucket and driver loader to force bucket into bulk materials.**
• **Moves levers to raise and tilt bucket when filled and moves levers to dump material.**
• **Participates in making sure the quality and quantity of raw materials meets established standards**
• **Ensure assigned established performance indicators are met.**
• **Communicates with job Superintendent to report equipment issues to be resolved as promptly as possible.**
• **Always Adheres to all AEDC and OSHA rules and regulations and wears proper safety equipment while on all job sites.**
• **Perform other job responsibilities as assigned by management**

**​​​​​​​****PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:**

• **Requires walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing to a significant degree.**
• **Exerting up to 100lbs of force occasionally, and/or negliglible amount of force frequently.**
• **Job involves sitting most of the times but also involves walking or standing for times when assisting the job operation on the ground when needed.**
• **While performing duties, the employee is regularly required to communicate and hear with other employees and/or GC employees as well as function safely around heavy rolling equipment.**
• **Must be able to perform all job functions which include, but may not be limited to, pushing, turning, and/or pulling of controls.**
