**Your Impact**
As the Director of Surgical Recovery and Organ Preservation, you will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for LifeShare Network's Surgical Recovery Coordinators, Organ Perfusion Specialists, and related recovery support teams.
You'll oversee every aspect of surgical recovery, organ preservation, machine perfusion, recovery logistics, and operating room coordination to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality recovery practices that maximize organ utilization and transplant opportunities.
**In this role, you will:**
- Lead and develop Surgical Recovery Coordinators, Organ Perfusion Specialists, and assigned team members
- Oversee surgical recovery operations from OR planning through preservation, packaging, transport readiness, and post-case follow-up
- Drive organ preservation and machine perfusion strategies to maximize organ utilization and transplant outcomes
- Ensure adequate staffing, scheduling, training, and competency assessment programs
- Serve as a clinical and operational resource during active donor cases
- Collaborate with hospitals, transplant centers, surgeons, and internal teams to support efficient recovery workflows
- Monitor compliance with OPTN, CMS, and organizational requirements
- Analyze operational data and performance metrics to identify opportunities for improvement
- Support budget planning, equipment management, and preservation technology initiatives
- Lead process improvement efforts that enhance quality, efficiency, and outcomes across the recovery process
## Qualifications
**Required**
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Health Science, or a related healthcare field
- Minimum of five years of experience in organ procurement, transplantation, surgical recovery, organ preservation, perfusion, or a related clinical specialty
- Strong knowledge of organ recovery, preservation, perfusion, operating room workflows, and transplant center coordination
- Demonstrated leadership, team development, and performance management experience
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and time-sensitive operational demands
**Preferred**
- Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field
- Leadership experience within an OPO, transplant program, surgical services department, or perfusion program
- CPTC, CTP, CST, CFA, or related professional certification
- Experience with machine perfusion technologies and advanced organ preservation practices
- Experience using data and performance metrics to drive operational improvements
