Job Title

Position Summary

  • The Industrial Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing
  • electrical systems and equipment in an industrial manufacturing environment. This role ensures the
  • safe and reliable operation of production equipment, minimizes downtime, and supports continuous
  • improvement efforts through preventive and predictive maintenance activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, test, and repair industrial electrical equipment and systems.
  • Troubleshoot electrical, electronic, and control system issues on production machinery.
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
  • Install and maintain motors, motor controls, VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives), sensors, and

automation equipment.

  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on electrical systems and equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical faults using testing instruments such as multimeters and

megohmmeters.

  • Calibrate and troubleshoot instrumentation and process control devices.
  • Support equipment upgrades, machine installations, and plant improvement projects.
  • Ensure compliance with electrical codes, safety standards, and company policies.
  • Perform lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and follow all applicable safety regulations.
  • Document maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance records.
  • Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and production teams to improve equipment reliability

and efficiency.

  • Participate in emergency repairs and scheduled maintenance shutdowns as required.

## Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Completion of an electrical apprenticeship, technical training program, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of industrial electrical maintenance experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, motor controls, and automation equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
  • Knowledge of PLC troubleshooting and industrial networking preferred.
  • Familiarity with NEC (National Electrical Code) and OSHA regulations.
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing PLC-controlled equipment, VFDs, motor controls, and

industrial automation systems.

  • Demonstrated ability to diagnose equipment failures, perform root cause analysis, and implement

effective corrective actions to minimize downtime.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and climb for extended periods.

  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, and on-call schedules as required.

Working Conditions

  • Manufacturing, industrial, or production facility environment.
  • Exposure to energized electrical equipment and moving machinery.
  • May require weekend work and emergency call-outs.
