Summer Food Service Cook

## Description

Join our team this summer as a Food Service Cook and help make a positive impact in the community! This part-time, seasonal role runs June through August (Monday–Friday, daytime hours), with flexible training opportunities in May. You’ll play a key role in preparing meals, serving guests, and supporting a safe, welcoming environment.

• Prepare and serve meals in accordance with program guidelines
• Process cash and credit card transactions accurately
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen/workspace
• Ensure compliance with CACFP, SFSP, and health department regulations
• Track required meal and program data
• Transport food and supplies to program sites (mileage reimbursed)
• Work collaboratively with team members and demonstrate initiative
• Provide respectful, friendly service to all guests
• Support the mission and values of the organization

## Qualifications

• High school diploma (or in progress)
• ServSafe certification required prior to start
• Ability to complete CACFP 4-hour training within the first week
• Previous food preparation experience preferred
• Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and current insurance/registration required
• Ability to obtain PA Criminal Clearance, Child Abuse Clearance, and FBI clearance
• Strong teamwork, communication, and customer service skills
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 35 lbs occasionally
• Comfortable working in summer weather conditions
• Basic computer/cash register skills and manual dexterity
