Seasonal Custodian (PT)

## Description

**This is a seasonal position from May 25, 2026 - August 30, 2026, paying $16 per hour.**

**Hours for this position include:**

**Monday 4pm - 9pm, Tuesday 4pm - 9p, Wednesday 4pm - 9p, Thursday 4pm - 9p and Friday 4pm - 9pm**

The Custodian is dedicated to fulfilling the Jewish Community Center’s (the J’s) mission of enriching lives, building community, promoting inclusivity, and creating meaningful Jewish experiences.

**Responsibilities:**

• Custodian responsibilities focusing primarily on the Pavilion and Pool Deck
• Must be able to work independently and well with others.
• Launder, fold and restock towels.
• Mop, sweep and scrub floors and other surfaces as needed.
• Ongoing cleaning and servicing of restrooms and locker rooms. Frequent restocking of consumables, towels, and toiletries.
• Report items that require repair.
• Transport items throughout the J as needed. (i.e., meals, packages, mail, etc.)
• Follow and abide by all J rules and policies.
• Report any issue that you cannot resolve but requires attention.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

**Physical Demands:**

• Must pass pre-employment physical.
• Work is performed while standing, sitting and/or walking. Must be able to spend majority of shift walking, twisting, bending, pushing, stooping, and pulling.
• Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility.
• Requires the ability to communicate effectively.
• Requires bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching.
• Requires the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull objects not to exceed 50+ lbs.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.
• Most tasks are performed indoors. Temperature is moderate and controlled by building environmental systems; however, laundry staff must be able to work in extreme temperatures found in laundry rooms (+80F), possibly for one hour or more.

## Qualifications
**Qualifications:**

• Grade School graduation
• High School Diploma/GED preferred.
• Must be capable of working in a fast-paced environment with multiple interruptions.
• Prior related experience preferred.
• Must possess basic computational ability.
• General knowledge of basic cleaning chemicals and their safety is a plus.
• Must be attentive to details with outstanding internal and external customer service skills.
• Flexible schedule to allow for weekend and evening work is required.
• Able to volunteer to work set up and tear down for events. May require adjusting hours or time outside of normal business hours.
