Job Purpose

  • The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at Brecon Village, part of EHM Senior Solutions, is responsible for providing high-quality, compassionate care to residents in a senior living environment. The role involves assisting residents with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort and safety, and supporting the healthcare team in delivering exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
  • Monitor and record vital signs, and report any changes in residents' health or behavior to nursing staff.
  • Support residents with mobility and physical activities, including transferring and positioning.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents by adhering to infection control protocols and safety guidelines.
  • Assist with meal preparation and feeding, ensuring residents receive proper nutrition.
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, fostering a nurturing and respectful atmosphere.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge in senior care.
  • Document and communicate resident care activities and observations accurately and timely.
  • Respond promptly to residents' call lights and requests, ensuring their needs are met efficiently.

## Qualifications

Required Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Completion of a state-approved nursing assistant training program is necessary.

Preferred Experience

  • Minimum of one year of experience working as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in a healthcare setting.
  • Experience in providing care to senior citizens or individuals with disabilities is preferred.

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Strong understanding of patient care and medical terminology.
  • Ability to assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and feeding.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Compassionate and patient-centered approach to caregiving.
  • Ability to maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills for accessing electronic medical records.
  • Physical stamina and ability to lift and move patients as needed.
