Salary: $50,000

The YMCA of Reading & Berks County is seeking an experienced and passionate **Childcare Center Director** to lead one of our licensed early learning centers. This is an exciting opportunity for a strong leader who is committed to providing high-quality early childhood education while building positive relationships with children, families, staff, and the community.

As the Center Director, you will oversee the daily operations of the center, including enrollment, staffing, budgeting, licensing compliance, and program quality. You will coach and develop a team of educators, ensure compliance with Pennsylvania childcare regulations and Keystone STARS standards, and create a safe, welcoming environment where children thrive.

**Responsibilities include:**

• Lead the daily operations of a licensed childcare center.
• Recruit, hire, train, coach, schedule, and develop childcare staff.
• Ensure compliance with all Pennsylvania licensing regulations and Keystone STARS requirements.
• Manage enrollment, family engagement, and customer service.
• Develop and manage the program budget, payroll, and financial performance.
• Maintain all required licensing, employee, and program documentation.
• Build positive relationships with families, school districts, licensing agencies, and community partners.
• Promote a culture focused on safety, quality, teamwork, and exceptional care.
• Monitor program performance and identify opportunities for continued growth.
• Support YMCA fundraising efforts and community initiatives as assigned.

## Qualifications
Applicants must meet the **Pennsylvania Childcare Director** qualifications under **55 Pa. Code Chapter 3270**, including **one** of the following:

• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Special Education, Elementary Education, or Human Services **plus one (1) year** of experience working with children.
• Bachelor's degree in another field with **30 credit hours** in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Special Education, Elementary Education, or Human Services, **plus two (2) years** of experience working with children.
• Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Special Education, Elementary Education, or Human Services **plus three (3) years** of experience working with children.
• Associate's degree in another field with **30 credit hours** in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Special Education, Elementary Education, or Human Services, **plus four (4) years** of experience working with children.

**Additional Qualifications**

• Meet Pennsylvania childcare licensing requirements for Center Directors.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience in an early childhood setting strongly preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
• Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with staff, families, and community partners.
• Commitment to providing exceptional customer service and high-quality childcare.
• Ability to lift up to 60 pounds and respond quickly in emergencies involving children.
• Successful completion of all required background clearances and pre-employment requirements.
