Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum’s working shipyard is hiring a reliable entry-level laborer to support daily operations while learning the basics of the marine trades. This is a great hands-on, outdoor job with opportunities to grow.

No experience? That’s okay—we’ll train you.

**What You’ll Do**

  • Clean, organize and maintain the shipyard and work areas
  • Sand, scrape, mask, and prep boats
  • Move tools, materials, and equipment
  • Support shipwrights and project teams
  • Help keep projects moving and the yard running smoothly
  • Jump in and help wherever needed

## Qualifications
**What We’re Looking For**

  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Reliable, shows up on time and works well with others
  • Willing to take direction and jump in where needed
  • Comfortable with physical labor and outdoor work in an active, hands-on shipyard and museum environment

**Preferred (but not required)**

  • Experience in marine work, construction, landscaping, or manual labor
  • Interest in boats, woodworking, or mechanical work

**Physical Requirements**

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to perform physical work (standing, bending, lifting)
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Good balance, coordination, and manual dexterity
  • Comfortable working around water, boats, and equipment
