Bandsaw Operator

## Description
**Position Summary:**
Position is responsible for reading route cards and/or sketches to cut wood or veneer parts to shape or pattern using a bandsaw.
**Position Details:**

• Cuts to line and holds cut to close tolerance + 1/32
• Makes basic visual inspection of parts discarding those with obvious defects
• Stacks parts and cuts more than one at a time when possible
• Creates own forms, patterns and jigs as needed from scratch wood to complete task
• Change saw blades and does preventive maintenance as required
• Sets up bandsaw with forms, guides and blades as needed to run specific parts
• Observes plant safety rules
• Keeps work area clean and is quality conscious in performing duties
• Performs other tasks as assigned by the Supervisor

## Qualifications
**Position Requirements:**

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Previous bandsaw experience required
• Must be able to read a ruler

**Physical Requirements:**

• Must be able to walk, stand, climb, stoop, twist, push, pull and bend over the course of 8 hours
• Must be able to lift cores of 30 pounds or more
• Must be able to load stock on pallets
