Job Purpose

The Custodial - Floor Care Technician at Summit Christian Academy is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of various hard floor surfaces, including LVP, concrete, and hardwood gym floors. This role is integral in maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors by performing specialized floor care and assisting with general custodial duties and special projects as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain a variety of hard floor surfaces such as LVP, concrete, and hardwood gym floors.
• Operate a variety of equipment including automatic scrubbers, floor machines, burnishers, and vacuums to ensure optimal floor care.
• Assist with general custodial duties, contributing to the overall cleanliness and upkeep of the facility.
• Participate in special projects as required, demonstrating flexibility and a team-oriented approach.
• Perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and stooping as part of routine floor care and maintenance activities.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment for all facility users.

**Schedule:** Primarily **evening hours** (3:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.), with occasional adjustments for school events or special needs.
**Status:** **Part-time** with the **potential for full-time** hours based on performance and departmental needs.
## Qualifications

Required Education

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Required Skills and Abilities

• Proficiency in cleaning and maintaining various hard floor surfaces, such as LVP, concrete, and hardwood gym floors.
• Ability to assist with general custodial duties and special projects as needed.
• Physical capability to perform tasks that require lifting, bending, and stooping.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and respond to requests.
