Secondary Resource Teacher

**Job Purpose:**

The Secondary Resource Teacher supports students in developing foundational English skills and building confidence in learning. This role provides targeted instruction to students who need additional support, using differentiated strategies to meet diverse learning needs. The role involves fostering a supportive and engaging learning atmosphere that aligns with the our values and educational standards.

**Key Responsibilities:**

• Develop and implement lesson plans that meet the educational needs of students in grades 7-12, ensuring alignment with the school's Christian values and academic standards.
• Provide small group and individualized math instruction aligned with core curriculum
• Support students with gaps in foundational math skills and problem-solving strategies
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to reinforce concepts and support student progress
• Monitor student performance and adjust instruction accordingly
• Communicate regularly with parents and staff regarding student growth
• Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and administration to support student learning and address any academic or behavioral concerns.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay informed about the latest educational practices and trends.
• Uphold and promote the mission and values of Summit Christian Academy in all interactions with students, parents, and colleagues.

**Qualifications:**

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field (English emphasis preferred)
• Valid teaching certification (secondary English preferred)
• Experience with intervention strategies or working with diverse learners is highly desirable
