**Job Title:** HR Specialist

**Job Summary**

This position is responsible for the professional and consistent application of Human Resources procedures and policies across the organization. The HR Specialist serves as a key administrator of the employee lifecycle, focusing on data integrity, policy adherence, and positive employee experience. This includes managing the HRIS, benefits administration, compliance documentation, and supporting employee relations, training, and development initiatives.

**Duties/Responsibilities**

  • HRIS & Records Management: Administer the Human Resources Information System (HRIS), ensuring all employee records, organizational data, and reporting structures are accurate, up-to-date, and secure.
  • Onboarding & Offboarding: Manage the administrative process for the full employee lifecycle, including preparing new hire paperwork, conducting new employee orientation, and processing separation documentation.
  • Benefits Administration: Assist with the daily administration of employee benefits programs (health, dental, vision, 401k, FMLA), including new enrollments, status changes, invoice reconciliation, and supporting the annual Open Enrollment process.
  • Payroll Support: Collaborate closely with the Payroll department by submitting timely and accurate payroll changes, deductions, and documentation related to transfers, leaves, and employment status updates.
  • Compliance & Policy: Ensure all HR practices and documentation comply with federal, state, and local employment laws. Assist in communicating, interpreting, and enforcing company policies consistently.
  • Employee Support: Serve as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries regarding benefits, HR policies, and general employment matters, providing timely and accurate information while escalating complex issues to the HR Manager.
  • Reporting & Auditing: Generate and analyze routine HR reports and metrics (e.g., headcount, turnover, time-to-hire) to support data-driven decision-making and participate in internal and external HR audits.
  • Training & Development: Support the coordination and logistical setup of employee training programs, tracking attendance and maintaining training records.

**Required Skills/Abilities**

  • HR Expertise: Strong working knowledge of core HR functions, employment laws (e.g., FMLA, FLSA), and HR best practices.
  • System Proficiency: Proven hands-on experience and proficiency with an HRIS (Human Resources Information System); ability to perform complex data entry and run reports.
  • Data Management: Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail required for managing confidential records and ensuring data integrity.
  • Communication & Discretion: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with the utmost integrity and professionalism.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve HR administrative issues efficiently.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially MS Excel for data manipulation and reporting.

**Education and Experience**

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of proven experience in an HR Specialist or HR Generalist role.
  • Experience in benefits administration and payroll support is highly desirable.
  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification is a plus.

**Physical Requirements**

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.

**Special Qualifications/Requirements**

  • Must be able to successfully pass a background investigation.
  • Must be able to clear all requirements to enter US-Base.
