**Receptionist- Family Physicians of Western Colorado**

**Job Summary:**

To answer all incoming calls, make appointments appropriately for patients, greet and check in patients, check all patients out, collect payments and co-payments. Set up follow-up appointments and monitor doctor schedule, to provide patients with the best customer service as possible and to maintain a pleasant working environment for all staff

**Duties/Responsibilities:**

**Scheduler**

  • Answer phones (primary) and handle calls appropriately
  • Schedule and cancel appointments appropriately
  • Support Dismiss/Admit positions as needed
  • Add new patient accounts
  • Work Team and individual Task boxes and Portal messages

**Dismiss**

  • Collect co-pays, payments or past due amounts
  • Confirm copays and amounts due on Phreesia
  • Schedule follow-up appointments
  • Print or send to the portal the patients Clinical Summary
  • Responsible for assigned change drawer
  • Scheduler duties (secondary)

**Admit**

  • Print encounter sheet and send to the correct wing
  • Add exam forms as appropriate
  • Gather and enter in PM correct ID and insurance information
  • Check eligibility on all insurance
  • Transfer to Phreesia any balances from the PM and add/ or subtract copays
  • Educate patients and assist when necessary with the use of Phreesia
  • Facilitate getting ill patients to the back
  • Enter no shows, cancellations, and reschedules
  • **Experience:**
  • Must have phone skills and pleasant phone voice; customer service oriented; some computer skills, be able to multi-task; perform well under pressure; able to work at a fast pace
  • **Education Requirements:**

High School Diploma

  • **Working Conditions:**
  • This position works primarily seated at a desk in a well-lighted, ventilated area. Significant phone work, some walking around office with some light lifting
