## Description
Job Summary
- The Mixing Technician is responsible for the accurate and efficient preparation of ingredient batches in
- accordance with production schedules and product specifications. This role involves operating industrial mixing
- equipment, ensuring proper material handling, and maintaining compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices
- (GMP), 5S/6S standards, and safety protocols. The Mixing Technician plays a key role in maintaining product
- quality and a clean, organized work environment.
Primary Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor industrial mixing machines according to standard operating procedures and
production requirements.
- Prepare and measure ingredients accurately based on batch recipes or formulas.
- Load, mix, and discharge product batches while ensuring proper mixing times and consistency.
- Ensure all materials are properly labeled, placed, and stored in designated locations to prevent cross-
contamination and material loss.
- Perform pre-operation and post-operation checks on mixing equipment and report any malfunctions or
maintenance needs.
- Follow strict GMP guidelines and maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene in the mixing and
ingredient staging areas.
- Comply with and actively participate in 5S/6S housekeeping procedures to sustain a clean, organized,
and efficient workspace.
- Accurately document lot numbers, weights, and quantities on batch records and production logs.
- Assist in inventory control by reporting material usage and discrepancies.
- Perform routine sanitation of equipment and work area in compliance with food safety standards.
- Adhere to all safety rules and use proper personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and quality assurance personnel to ensure
product quality and production efficiency.
- Lift and move raw materials, product containers, and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds regularly
throughout the shift.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in a food manufacturing or mixing environment preferred.
- Basic understanding of GMP, food safety, and sanitation practices.
- Familiarity with 5S or 6S workplace organization principles.
- Ability to perform basic math and read measurement devices.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written instructions accurately.
- Capable of standing for extended periods and working in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends as needed.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Frequent standing, walking, reaching, bending, and twisting throughout the shift.
- Ability to climb ladders or stairs and operate lift equipment as needed.
- Capable of working in environments with varying temperatures (e.g., warm, humid, or refrigerated
areas).
- Must be able to wear required PPE, including hairnets, gloves, safety goggles, hearing protection, and
steel-toed footwear.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment for extended periods of time.
