### Role Summary

The Pre/Post-Operative RN is essential to the smooth and safe operation of our surgery center. You will utilize your experience and clinical judgment to provide comprehensive, patient-centered care from pre-operative preparation through post-operative recovery, ensuring the highest standards of safety and quality are met.

  • **Required Availability:** Must have availability on **Tuesdays and Thursdays**.

### Core Duties and Responsibilities

  • **Patient Assessment & Planning:** Evaluate assigned patients, develop individualized nursing care plans, and ensure meticulous documentation of care provided.
  • **Clinical Care:** Perform various patient tests and safely administer medications within the RN scope of practice.
  • **Surgical Support:** Assist in the organization and daily function of the operating room environment, ensuring compliance with established Federal, State, and accreditation standards, and center policies.
  • **Physician Assistance:** Assist physicians efficiently and professionally during examinations and surgical procedures.
  • **Patient Education:** Actively promote patient independence by establishing measurable patient care goals and effectively teaching patients and families about their conditions, medications, and crucial self-care skills for a successful recovery.
  • **Compliance:** Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, ensuring all activities adhere to all regulatory and center-specific standards.

## Qualifications
**MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:**

  • Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Nebraska (or compact state). BLS and ACLS
  • Prior experience in Pre/Post-Operative, PACU, or critical care nursing is highly preferred.
  • Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to act independently using professional judgment.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • A collaborative team-player attitude with a commitment to high-quality patient outcomes.
