**Position Summary**

The Loan Recovery Advisor is pivotal to the health of Texas Tech CU Special Assets and the member recovery program. This role is responsible for planning, organizing, and managing policies and procedures that involve delinquent loans and open-ended accounts. The Loan Recovery Advisor manages collections, loan restriction, repossession, and pursues legal action when necessary.

**Duties & Responsibilities**

• Serve Texas Tech CU members and employees pleasantly and professionally in accordance with Texas Tech CU core values of Trust, Respect, Excellence, Kindness, and Stewardship.
• Answer member or business partner requests, inquiries, complaints, and concerns in a timely, effective, and kind manner whether received in-person, online, or by telephone.
• Properly document recovery activity on loans using core systems and credit reporting websites.
• Monitor credit accounts and communicate with members regarding delinquency.
• Supervise the credit collection process including recoveries, skip tracing, and bankruptcy.
• Demonstrate sound decision-making skills by initiating loan modifications and workout loans.
• Assist in the compliance function as it relates to credit collections, including the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA).
• Maintain positive working relationships with legal counsel and third-party vendors.
• Assist in deposit collections as needed.
• Attend and participate in all required and job-related training events as assigned.
• Other administrative duties as assigned.

## Qualifications
**Skills & Qualifications**

• Five years of experience in managing collection accounts, including credit cards and installment loans.
• Two years of experience in managing credit collection activity.
• Experience with bankruptcy and financial legal matters.
• Experience in credit cards or other consumer lending areas.
• Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships.
