About The Role
## Description
# **Primary Responsibilities and Key Deliverables**
- Identify and separate hazardous and non-hazardous waste according to regulatory guidelines
- Collect waste from designated areas including production zones, tanks, and confined spaces
- Safely transport waste to approved disposal or treatment facilities
- Operate vacuum trucks, forklifts, and other waste handling equipment
- Maintain accurate records of waste types, volumes, and disposal methods
- Ensure labeling, packaging, and manifesting of waste materials meet EPA and DOT standards
- Follow HAZWOPER, OSHA, and company-specific safety procedures
- Respond to spills and leaks using proper containment and cleanup methods
- Equipment Maintenance:
- Inspect and maintain waste handling tools and PPE
- Report equipment malfunctions and assist with minor repairs
- Coordinate with cleaning crews and supervisors to align waste removal with cleaning schedules
- Participate in safety meetings and training sessions
# **Required Skills and Competencies**
- Knowledge of hazardous waste classification and disposal procedures
- Ability to operate vacuum trucks, drum lifters, and containment systems
- Familiarity with EPA, DOT, and OSHA regulations
- Proficiency in using PPE and spill response equipment
- Strong attention to detail and safety awareness
- Effective communication and teamwork
- Physical stamina and ability to work in high-risk environments
- Problem-solving and adaptability under pressure
## Qualifications
# **Minimum Education and Experience**
- High school diploma or GED; technical training in industrial cleaning preferred
- 1–3 years of experience in industrial cleaning or waste management
# **Work Environment**
- Tools, equipment, machinery used: Hydroblasting, Vacuum Truck, and Tank cleaning equipment.
- Working conditions: Will be exposed to all weather conditions. Work on various structures and surfaces both at ground and elevated levels up to and possibly exceeding 150 ft. Work in confined spaces. Work a 12-hour shift with 30-minute lunch breaks. If requested, work overtime, and respond to emergency callouts whenever they occur. Work days, nights, and weekends. Travel to customer and other Miller sites as needed.
- Physical effort required: Handling tools, materials, and equipment weighing up to 150 lbs. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Must be able to sit, stand, walk, crawl, bend, squat, and kneel. Must be capable of climbing towers/vessels/tanks.
