Oklahoma City Indian Clinic (OKCIC) is a non-profit corporation that provides culturally sensitive health care to the American Indian population. OKCIC services include not only basic medical care but also dental, optometry, behavioral health services, fitness, nutrition, and other family programs.

At the Oklahoma City Indian Clinic, we believe prevention changes lives. We're seeking an experienced and visionary Director of Preventive Health to lead our comprehensive prevention service lines and drive innovative, evidence-based programs that improve the health of American Indian communities.

This executive leadership role provides strategic oversight of our Diabetes, Diabetes Prevention, Health Promotion Disease Prevention, and Wellness Center departments while leading nationally recognized prevention programs, expanding community partnerships, securing grant funding, and advancing population health initiatives.

Job duties include, but are not limited to

• Provide executive leadership for Diabetes, Diabetes Prevention, Health Promotion Disease Prevention, and Wellness Center programs.
• Lead and develop department managers through coaching, mentoring, succession planning, and performance management.
• Develop long-term strategic plans that support population health, chronic disease prevention, and organizational growth.
• Oversee departmental budgets, staffing, quality improvement initiatives, operational performance, and regulatory compliance.
• Direct nationally recognized prevention programs, including:
• Diabetes Self-Management Education and Support (DSMES)
• CDC National Diabetes Prevention Program (National DPP)
• Medical Fitness
• Community Nutrition & Wellness Programs
• Medical Nutrition Therapy
• Provide executive oversight of federal, state, tribal, and private grant-funded initiatives, including budgeting, compliance, reporting, sustainability planning, and performance measurement.
• Identify and pursue new funding opportunities that expand prevention services and improve community health.
• Analyze operational, clinical, financial, and population health data to drive strategic decision-making and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with executive leadership to develop organizational priorities and enterprise-wide initiatives.
• Represent Oklahoma City Indian Clinic with tribal partners, funding agencies, healthcare organizations, community partners, and professional associations.

## Qualifications

• Must align with OKCIC vision, mission, and core vaules.
• Master's degree in Public Health (MPH), Healthcare Administration (MHA), Business Administration (MBA), Public Administration (MPA), Nursing, Nutrition, or a closely related field.
• Ten (10) or more years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare, public health, disease prevention, wellness programming, or population health.
• Five (5) or more years of director-level leadership experience.
• Demonstrated success leading multiple clinical, prevention, or wellness service lines.
• Minimum of seven (7) years overseeing nationally recognized Diabetes Self-Management Education and Support (DSMES) and CDC-recognized Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) initiatives.
• Experience managing complex grant-funded programs, budgets, compliance, reporting, and performance outcomes.
• Current certification or licensure as a Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN), Registered Nurse (RN), or Certified Personal Trainer (CPT), as applicable to your discipline.
• Current Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) or Board Certified in Advanced Diabetes Management (BC-ADM) certification.
• Experience working with Tribal health programs, Indian Health Service (IHS), Urban Indian Health organizations, Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs), or other community-based healthcare organizations is preferred.
• Experience with Food Is Medicine, Produce Prescription (Produce Rx), nutrition security, or other food-based health initiatives is preferred.
• Experience with preventive health reimbursement, CPT/HCPCS coding, and revenue cycle operations preferred.
