## Description
**Key Responsibilities:**

• Assist students in grades K–3 with reading practice and literacy activities
• Provide encouragement and positive reinforcement to build confidence
• Follow lesson plans and guidance provided by YReads staff
• Help students with pronunciation, comprehension, and vocabulary
• Maintain a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment
• Communicate student progress or concerns to program coordinators

**Training & Support:**

• Orientation and training provided by YMCA staff
• Ongoing support and resources available

## Qualifications
**Qualifications:**

• Passion for working with children and supporting education
• Strong reading and communication skills
• Patience, reliability, and a positive attitude
• Background check will be required

**Time Commitment:**

• Program duration follows the school year – flexible summer schedule also available
• Typically 1.5-3 hours per day, available, M-Th.
