Athletic Coach

## Description
To organize, supervise, instruct and coach in their assigned coaching area.
**Athletic Duties**

• Conduct themselves in an ethical manner.
• Present themselves as a positive role model.
• Organize and conduct well-planned practice sessions.
• Assume supervisory role over all phases of the team’s program.
• Adhere to budget policies and procedures.
• Emphasize safety precautions and be aware of best training and injury procedures.
• Make recommendations to the Athletic Director in matters of scheduling.
• Attend and make contributions at Coaches’ Meetings.
• Recommend purchase of equipment, supplies and uniforms, as need demands.
• Promote that sport by prompt accurate score reporting to local media.
• Assume and take responsibility for constant care of equipment, facilities and uniforms being used.
• Arrange for the issuance of letters and special awards.
• Instruct athletes concerning rules, techniques, strategies and sportsmanship of the sport.
• Implement and enforce all policies and rules established by Athletic Department and Saint Edwards School.

## Qualifications
**Preferred Qualifications:**

• Bachelors degree in related field
• Prior experience coaching in assigned sport.

**Physical Requirements and Work Environment**

• Works in a highly stressful environment dealing with a wide variety of challenges, deadlines and a varied and diverse array of contacts.
• Work in outside weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
• Tasks involve the ability to exert heavy physical effort in heavy work, including climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling, and lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials weighing 20 to 50 pounds
