Catering Sales Manager - DiamondHead Beach Resort

## Description

The Catering Sales Manager is responsible for generating catering and event revenue through proactive sales efforts, cultivating client relationships, and coordinating all aspects of events from initial inquiry through successful execution. This position serves as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring seamless communication and planning while partnering with hotel operations teams to deliver exceptional guest experiences. Responsible for ensuring compliance with safety and health regulations of FL state, maintaining current state food handlers management certificate.

Generates catering and event sales through prospecting, networking, referrals, and responding to inquiries. Prepares proposals, contracts, banquet event orders (BEOs), and other event documentation. Responsible for overseeing the success of all banquet events and activities; supervising room set-ups, services, schedules and cleanup of all banquet and catering functions; selecting, training and developing employees, ordering supplies, oversee collection of payment and ultimately responsible for monthly inventories and par levels.

## Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
• Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in catering sales, hotel sales, event planning, hospitality sales, or a related customer-facing sales role
• Must possess and maintain valid and State Food Handlers Certification.
• Professional certifications such as Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) or Certified Hospitality Sales Professional (CHSP) are a plus
• Proven ability to generate new business, negotiate contracts, and meet or exceed revenue goals.
• Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple events and deadlines simultaneously
• Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Exceptional customer service and relationship-building abilities
• Must have the ability to deal effectively and interact well with the employees throughout all levels of SunStream Hotels & Resorts, LLC
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instruction, and procedure manuals
• Must be able to regularly use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl; talk to hear and taste or smell.
• Must be able to stand, walk, and move through all areas of the hotel/resort property 75% of assigned shift.
• Must be able to remain in a stationary position 25% of assigned shift.
• Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and effectively deal with customers, management, employees, and members of the business community in all situations.
