Carpenter - Crew Leader

## Description

**DUTIES:**Under the general supervision of the Carpenter Foreman the Carpenter Crew Leader is responsible for

• Working on general construction, cabinet building, carpentry repair maintenance, renovations, glazing, hardware installation jobs as directed.
• Assisting with planning work and supervising workmen assigned.
• Operating and maintaining shop equipment to include table saw, joiner and planer; lay out and assembles projects in shop.
• Maintaining the cleanliness and safety of work area and vehicle.
• Following all safety procedures that pertain to the duties performed. Supporting all aspects of the Park District’s safety program.
• Performing other related duties as assigned.

## Qualifications
**Education**: High school diploma or junior college certification recommended.
**Experience**: Two years of experience as a carpenter or apprentice required.

**Knowledge and Ability**

• Basic knowledge of carpentry work.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
• Aptitude for on-the-job training.
• Ability to work effective with Park District personnel.
• Must maintain a valid Illinois State Driver’s License.
• Ability to be professional, respectful, accountable, innovative, to follow safety procedures, and be equitable to both internal and external customers.
• Personal –Work record that shows reliability, initiative, creativity, tact and resourcefulness.
