About The Role
## Description
PURPOSE
The Regulatory and Environmental Associate ensures that chemical products and manufacturing plants comply with federal, state, and international product regulations, supporting legal manufacturing, and distribution of Innovative’s products.
**DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:**
- Management of Hazcom Standard documents (SDS and labels).
- Maintenance of product regulatory information database.
- Authoring compliance documentation (e.g., regulatory or global inventory summaries).
- Customers response (e.g., inventory status, Prop 65, questionnaires).
- Ownership of the safety program for lab employees as the OSHA Chemical Hygiene Officer.
- Oversight of RCRA waste management program.
- Regulatory reporting (e.g., FIFRA establishment reports, SARA Tier II, TRI).
- Support for 3rd party certifications and assessments (e.g., SaferChoice, WERCs).
- Ownership of Kosher compliance for certified products.
- Other duties based on the needs of the business.
## Qualifications
**JOB REQUIREMENTS:**
- Chemical or Chemistry experience required.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in related area as an individual contributor
- Must be a self-starter that understands the business strategy and regulatory deadlines and can prioritize work accordingly
- Must have experience with Chemical Data Exchange (CDX).
- Must have working knowledge of FIFRA, RCRA, TSCA and Hazmat regulations
- Must have the ability to interpret scientific, quality, and regulatory information and communicate relevant details to stakeholders.
- Must be well-organized, clear thinking and detailed oriented
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Must have experience leading internal audits and participating in external FDA audits
- Must have intermediate to advanced computer skills (e.g., MS Office, ERP Software).
- Must have intermediate to advanced math skills (e.g., application of fractions, percentages, ratios, concentrations units and geometry to practical situations)
- Must have the ability and initiative to work in a team-environment
**PREFERRED:**
- Bachelor’s Degree
**EXTERNAL WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:**
- Occasional interaction when visitors and clients are touring facility
**INTERNAL WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:**
- Regular interaction with other departments, including but not limited to QA, Maintenance, Production, R&D, Engineering, Shipping/Receiving, Supply Chain, and HR
**PHYSICAL DEMANDS/EQUIPMENT USE:**
- Regular sitting and use of general office equipment, computer keyboard, printer, copier
- Occasional standing, use of hands, reaching with arms and bending over
- Use of PPE when in the manufacturing facility
**WORKING CONDITIONS:**
- General office environment with visits to manufacturing plants and warehouses
- Moderate noise level (computers, printers, etc.)
