Job Purpose

• The BA/BS Counselor for Potentials Program (Youth Based Intervention Services) at LifeStream is responsible for providing comprehensive counseling services to clients, utilizing evidence-based practices to support their mental health and well-being. The role involves assessing client needs, developing treatment plans, and delivering therapeutic interventions to help clients achieve their personal and therapeutic goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments of clients to understand their mental health needs and challenges.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each client's specific needs.
• Provide individual and group counseling sessions using evidence-based therapeutic techniques.
• Monitor and evaluate clients' progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to ensure effective outcomes.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and stakeholders to coordinate care and provide holistic support for clients.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with relevant regulations.
• Participate in ongoing professional development and training to stay current with advancements in counseling practices.
• Provide crisis intervention and support to clients in emergency situations.
• Educate clients and their families about mental health issues and available resources.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of community outreach programs to promote mental health awareness.

## Qualifications

Required Education

• Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field.

Required Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a counseling or mental health setting.
• Experience working with diverse populations and understanding of cultural competencies.
• Proven track record of developing and implementing effective counseling plans.

Required Skills and Abilities

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Proficiency in using electronic health records and other clinical software.
• Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
• High level of empathy, patience, and sensitivity in dealing with clients.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines.
