Job Purpose

• The Recovery Specialist at LIFESTREAM BEHAVIORAL CENTER is responsible for providing support and guidance to individuals undergoing recovery from mental health or substance use disorders. This role involves working closely with clients to facilitate their recovery journey, ensuring they have access to necessary resources and support systems to achieve and maintain wellness.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct support and guidance to clients in recovery, helping them to develop and implement personalized recovery plans.
• Conduct regular assessments of clients' progress and adapt recovery strategies as needed to ensure continued improvement and success.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive care for clients.
• Facilitate group therapy sessions and support groups to foster a community of healing and mutual support among clients.
• Educate clients and their families about recovery processes, coping strategies, and available resources to empower them in their journey.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of client interactions, progress, and any incidents, ensuring compliance with organizational and legal standards.
• Advocate for clients' needs within the healthcare system and assist them in navigating available services and resources.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay informed of best practices in recovery support and behavioral health care.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of recovery-oriented programs and initiatives within the organization.

## Qualifications

Required Education

• Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field.

Required Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in mental health or substance abuse recovery settings.
• Proven experience in developing and implementing recovery plans for individuals with behavioral health challenges.
• Experience working in a team-oriented environment, collaborating with other healthcare professionals.

Required Skills and Abilities

• Strong understanding of recovery principles and the ability to apply them in a practical setting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and team members.
• Ability to handle crisis situations with calmness and professionalism.
• Proficiency in maintaining accurate and detailed client records.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing situations and needs.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
• Familiarity with electronic health records and basic computer applications.
