Job Purpose

  • The MA Therapist - Reg Intern at LIFESTREAM BEHAVIORAL CENTER is responsible for providing therapeutic services to clients under the supervision of a licensed therapist. This role involves conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and delivering individual and group therapy sessions to support the mental health and well-being of clients. The position is designed for a registered intern who is gaining practical experience in a clinical setting as part of their path towards full licensure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients to determine their mental health needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients and supervisors.
  • Provide individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing evidence-based therapeutic techniques.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client progress and treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure coordinated care for clients.
  • Participate in regular supervision and training sessions to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
  • Adhere to ethical guidelines and maintain client confidentiality at all times.
  • Engage in continuous professional development to stay current with best practices in the field of mental health therapy.

## Qualifications

Required Education

  • Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Must be a registered intern with the appropriate state board.

Required Experience

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of supervised clinical experience in a mental health setting.
  • Experience working with diverse populations and a variety of mental health issues.
  • Familiarity with evidence-based therapeutic practices and interventions.

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Strong diagnostic skills and the ability to develop effective treatment plans.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with clients and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Proficiency in maintaining accurate and timely clinical documentation.
  • Ability to manage a caseload effectively while maintaining high standards of care.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with industry best practices.
  • Sensitivity to cultural differences and the ability to work with clients from diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong ethical standards and a commitment to confidentiality and client privacy.
