Job Purpose
- The MA Therapist - Reg Intern at LIFESTREAM BEHAVIORAL CENTER is responsible for providing therapeutic services to clients under the supervision of a licensed therapist. This role involves conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and delivering individual and group therapy sessions to support the mental health and well-being of clients. The position is designed for a registered intern who is gaining practical experience in a clinical setting as part of their path towards full licensure.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients to determine their mental health needs.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients and supervisors.
- Provide individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing evidence-based therapeutic techniques.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client progress and treatment plans.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure coordinated care for clients.
- Participate in regular supervision and training sessions to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
- Adhere to ethical guidelines and maintain client confidentiality at all times.
- Engage in continuous professional development to stay current with best practices in the field of mental health therapy.
## Qualifications
Required Education
- Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Must be a registered intern with the appropriate state board.
Required Experience
- Minimum of 1-2 years of supervised clinical experience in a mental health setting.
- Experience working with diverse populations and a variety of mental health issues.
- Familiarity with evidence-based therapeutic practices and interventions.
Required Skills and Abilities
- Strong diagnostic skills and the ability to develop effective treatment plans.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with clients and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.
- Proficiency in maintaining accurate and timely clinical documentation.
- Ability to manage a caseload effectively while maintaining high standards of care.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with industry best practices.
- Sensitivity to cultural differences and the ability to work with clients from diverse backgrounds.
- Strong ethical standards and a commitment to confidentiality and client privacy.
