## Description

**POSITION DESCRIPTION:**

The Activity Director plans and coordinates the social, cultural, recreational and spiritual activities for Residents. This position coordinates the “Lets Make a Difference Program” The Activity Director works under the direction of a professional Registered Nurse or a Licensed Nurse in absence of the DON.

## Qualifications

**EDUCATION:** Graduate of an Accredited High School or GED Program

**LICENSE:** Completion of a State Certified course (GNHA) or may qualify with two years experience in LTC and application to take next available test.

**EXPERIENCE:** Preferred but not required.

**PHYSICAL / MENTAL DEMANDS:**

• Ability to think and work effectively under stress with frequent interruptions; to move, sit, stand, and walk and bend intermittently throughout the day, lift and / or move up to 100 pounds.
• Must possess sight and hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these sources to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
• Use of mechanical and technical equipment required for the responsibilities assigned.
• External and internal applicant who becomes disabled, must be able to perform the essential job functions either unaided or with the assistance of a reasonable accommodation to be determined on a case-by-case basis.
• Position has a low expected exposure to blood borne pathogens.
