Convergentz, a division of the Hunton Group, has an exciting opportunity for a **Building Automation System (BAS) Controls Technician** to join our team in Houston, TX. In this role, you’ll use your expertise in HVAC, hydronics, and control systems to install, diagnose, and repair advanced environmental comfort systems in commercial buildings.

### **What You’ll Do**

  • Install and service BAS control systems and HVAC equipment on assigned projects, ensuring top-tier customer satisfaction
  • Utilize hand tools, laptops, and diagnostic equipment to program, troubleshoot, and repair systems based on blueprints and engineering specs
  • Conduct preventive maintenance, site surveys, system replacements, and upgrades as requested
  • Analyze and repair HVAC and building automation instruments and controls at customer sites
  • Prepare for installations and service work by reviewing building layouts, anticipating site-specific challenges, and gathering materials
  • Provide field technical support to HVAC technicians and guidance to customers on system operation and maintenance
  • Offer training and follow-up instruction at customer locations as needed
  • Coordinate and schedule work based on project plans and deadlines
  • Determine parts needed for repairs and ensure timely procurement
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including job files, service reports, and repair logs
  • Inspect and maintain service vehicle and tools to ensure readiness and safety
  • Serve as a direct customer contact, representing Convergentz with professionalism and technical expertise

## Qualifications
### **What You’ll Bring**

  • 2–5 years of hands-on experience in BAS controls installation and service
  • Associate’s degree or technical school certificate in HVAC, Computer Science, or a related field (preferred)
  • Working knowledge of Niagara, Tridium, and/or Distech controls (preferred)
  • Strong technical and mathematical aptitude, with the ability to troubleshoot complex systems
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with building automation programming
  • Basic computer networking knowledge and comfort working with software interfaces
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Willingness to travel locally as needed
