**Preschool-aged Soccer Instructor at Rainier Community Center**

The Associated Recreation Council (ARC), in partnership with Seattle Parks & Recreation, is hiring a **Preschool-aged Soccer Instructor**. The Preschool-aged Soccer Instructor will be responsible for programming and delivering a soccer class to children aged 2-5 years. The coach will focus on introducing basic soccer skills through play, movement, and imagination while fostering confidence, teamwork, and a love for physical activity. This is a seasonal (winter and spring quarters) part-time role starting asap. There are multiple opportunities to extend.

  • Part time, Thursdays 4:15-5:45pm

### **Position Overview:**

We are looking for an energetic, patient, and enthusiastic Preschool Soccer Coach to lead fun, age-appropriate soccer sessions for children ages 2–5. The coach will focus on introducing basic soccer skills through play, movement, and imagination while fostering confidence, teamwork, and a love for physical activity.

**Preschool-aged Soccer Instructor Responsibilities:**

  • Lead engaging, structured soccer classes designed for preschool-aged children
  • Teach basic soccer skills such as running, kicking, dribbling, and coordination through games and activities
  • Create a positive, encouraging, and safe environment for all children
  • Use age-appropriate communication and behavior management techniques
  • Set up and break down equipment before and after sessions
  • Communicate professionally with parents and caregivers as needed
  • Follow program curriculum, safety guidelines, and attendance procedures

**Preschool-aged Soccer Instructor Minimum Qualifications:**

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Experience working with young children (preschool, daycare, coaching, teaching, or childcare experience preferred)
  • Enthusiastic, energetic, and patient personality
  • Ability to manage small groups of young children in an active setting
  • Reliable transportation and punctuality
  • Background check clearance (required)

**Pay:**

  • Starting Pay: $25.00 - 27.00/hr.
  • Full Pay Range: $25.00 - 35.00/hr. *(employee may earn up to $35.00/hr with continued employment)*
