**Job Title:** Summer Camp Pottery Instructor

**Council-Location:** 130 – Ballard

Associated Recreation Council (ARC), in partnership with Seattle Parks and Recreation, is seeking a qualified **Pottery Camp Instructor** to lead youth pottery camps at Ballard Community Center.

Instructors will guide participants in exploring creativity through clay while emphasizing foundational pottery techniques, artistic expression, and hands-on learning.

**Proposed Hourly Wage:** $25.00 $27.00

**Status:** Seasonal (Summer)

**Location:** Ballard Community Center

**Schedule**

Monday – Friday | 8:45 AM – 4:15 PM

### **Responsibilities**

• Instruct participants in basic pottery and clay-handling techniques
• Lead structured projects and creative activities using clay and other materials
• Supervise participants and maintain a positive, inclusive, and safe camp environment
• Set up and clean up tools, materials, and workspaces
• Communicate effectively with ARC staff and site supervisors
• Follow ARC and Seattle Parks and Recreation policies and procedures

### **Qualifications**

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Experience in pottery, ceramics, or visual arts instruction preferred
• Experience working with children in a recreational, classroom, or camp setting
• Ability to manage groups in a positive, patient, and supportive manner
