  • Starting pay: $27.00 - $29.00
  • Full Pay Range: $27.00 - $37.00/hour *(employee may earn up to $37.00/hr with continued employment)*

**About the Role**

Associated Recreation Council (ARC), in partnership with Seattle Parks and Recreation, is seeking a knowledgeable and motivating **Strength and Conditioning Instructor** to lead fitness programming for older adults. This role supports healthy aging by helping participants improve strength, mobility, balance, and overall functional fitness.

**These opportunities are for on‑site, in‑person instruction only.**

This year‑round, part‑time position is ideal for an instructor who is passionate about wellness, community engagement, and creating a safe, supportive environment for senior participants.

**Instructor Strength and Conditioning** duties and responsibilities include

  • **Lead strength and conditioning classes** tailored to senior adults, focusing on safe, functional movement.
  • Develop class plans that incorporate resistance training, balance work, flexibility, and low‑impact conditioning.
  • Provide clear instruction, modifications, and encouragement to participants of varying fitness levels.
  • Ensure participant safety by monitoring form and offering appropriate adjustments.
  • Manage class setup and cleanup.
  • Maintain attendance records and complete required administrative documentation.

**Instructor Strength and Conditioning**requirements include

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Experience teaching fitness, strength training, or group exercise classes.
  • Experience working with older adults preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to create a positive, inclusive, and motivating class environment.
