## Description
**Position Summary**
The Shipping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all inbound and outbound shipping operations for the company's primary warehouse while providing operational support to two auxiliary warehouse locations. This role ensures the efficient movement of materials, maintains shipping accuracy, coordinates with carriers, and leads daily shipping activities to meet customer and production schedules. The ideal candidate is highly organized, safety-focused, forklift certified, and thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume logistics environment.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Supervise all daily inbound and outbound shipping operations for the main warehouse.
- Provide shipping and logistics support to two auxiliary warehouse locations as needed.
- Coordinate multiple daily shipments, including:
- Full Truckload (FTL)
- Less-Than-Truckload (LTL)
- Parcel and van deliveries
- Schedule pickups and deliveries with freight carriers and transportation providers with the team of scheduling clerks.
- Verify shipping documentation including Bills of Lading (BOLs), packing lists, shipping labels, and receiving paperwork.
- Ensure accurate receiving, staging, loading, and unloading of materials.
- Operate forklifts safely to load, unload, and move materials throughout the warehouse.
- Maintain inventory accuracy by coordinating with warehouse and inventory teams.
- Monitor shipping priorities and adjust schedules to meet customer and operational demands.
- Train and oversee shipping personnel while promoting a safe, productive work environment.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, OSHA regulations, and shipping best practices.
- Investigate and resolve shipping discrepancies, damaged freight, and carrier issues.
- Maintain clean, organized, and efficient shipping and receiving areas.
- Assist with continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce shipping costs.
## Qualifications
**Qualifications**
- High school diploma or GED required; associate degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of warehouse or shipping experience.
- Previous supervisory or team lead experience preferred.
- Valid forklift certification (required).
- Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems, and Microsoft Office.
- Strong understanding of shipping documentation and freight management.
- Experience coordinating FTL, LTL, and local delivery shipments.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple shipments and changing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
**Physical Requirements**
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Frequently stand, walk, bend, and reach throughout the workday.
- Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely.
- Work in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures.
