**Pre-Op - PACU Registered Nurse**

**Schedule:** Full-Time

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments prior to surgical procedures, ensuring all pre-operative requirements are met.
  • Review patient's medical history and verify surgical consent forms and necessary documentation.
  • Administer prescribed medications and intravenous fluids as per pre-operative protocols.
  • Educate patients and their families about the surgical process, expected outcomes, and post-operative care instructions.
  • Monitor patients' vital signs and report any abnormalities to the surgical team.
  • Prepare and maintain a sterile environment in the pre-operative area.
  • Ensure all surgical equipment and supplies are available and functioning properly prior to procedures.
  • Provide emotional support to patients and families, addressing any concerns or questions they might have.
  • Document all patient interactions, assessments, and interventions accurately in the medical records.
  • Participate in continuous education and training sessions to stay updated with the latest nursing practices in pre-op and PACU care.
  • Follow hospital policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure patient safety and quality care.
  • Assist in the post-anesthesia care unit (PACU) as needed, monitoring patients as they recover from anesthesia.

## Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Education: Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing
  • Licenses/Certification: Required: Registered Nurse in the State. Current BLS, ACLS and PALS
  • Experience: Minimum two years in an operating room setting in a hospital or ASC.
