**Role Summary**

This position assists CCA YMCA members in finding new ways to inspire healthier habits through health & wellness. This position will work closely with members to promote wellness and help individuals realize their personal goals. Personal trainers are responsible for developing relationships with members and assisting them through the process of actively working towards better health by providing support, encouragement, and education.

## Qualifications

**Education/Professional Experience**

• Bachelor’s Degree in exercise science or a related field from an accredited college preferred but not required.
• Previous experience with diverse population preferred
• Able to work with and around staff, guests, members, and other stakeholders while providing a welcoming atmosphere and good customer service.
• Passion for fitness and ability to communicate the value and impact of personal training, group exercise and wellness to members and clients.

**Qualifications**

• CPR/AED/First Aid certifications and Child Abuse Prevention training within 30 days of hire date.
• Must have current personal training Certification (ACE, NASM, ACSM) or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.
• Ability to work at least 2 days a week to conduct personal training and has availability that is conducive to the hours that members are requesting.
• Must be able to work 5am to 12noon or 4pm to 10pm and remain flexible for clients on the weekend.
• Ability to promote and sell personal training and additional YMCA health and wellness services and programs.
