## Description

**Job Summary:** Responsible for the procuring and processing of laboratory specimens and reporting results in all areas of the clinical laboratory. Maintains laboratory records. Follows laboratory policies and procedures; participates in quality assurance and adheres to quality control practices in the Laboratory.

## Qualifications

**Regulatory Requirements:**

• Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology, Chemistry or Biology. Completed a Medical Technologist internship at a qualified medical facility.
• State Licensure is not required at this time. Experience as a Medical Technologist in the following specialties; blood bank, chemistry, hematology, microbiology, and serology/immunology is preferred..
• Certification preferred.

• Ability to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Additional languages are helpful.

1. **Skills:**

• Basic computer knowledge.
• Operates current Clinical Laboratory equipment correctly and safely. Examples: automated cell counter, automated chemistry equipment, microscope, etc.
