The Dental Assistant (DA) is an integral part of our team whose role helps aid in the daily operations of our practice to help exceed patient expectations. The DA helps create and maintain relationships with patients and helps provide a warm and calm environment, especially to those with anxiety, and makes every patient feel like family. The DA must adhere to the highest standards of dental practice, ethics, service, and professionalism at all times. The DA is committed to ongoing continuing education and continually strives to reach the highest standards in our profession. To assure consistency and stability, the DA is cross-trained with other areas within the practice to enable the ability to help when needed. The DA’s contributions help create and foster a safe, FUN, smoothly running, high-morale practice with a happy and productive team – and patients who love their smiles! • Assist in general dentistry procedures and highly complex dental surgeries
• Create, review, and accurately update patient charts and digitally document appropriate patient information, treatment information, lab slips, and health history
• Strictly maintain patient confidentiality through HIPAA compliance,
• Strictly adhere to safety policies and procedures through OSHA compliance and BBP (Blood-borne Pathogens)
• Clean, sterilize, and prepare dental equipment, instruments, technology, and treatment operatories and surgical suites, prior to, during, and after a patient’s appointment, while adhering to and surpassing OSHA standards
• Assist the practice administrative team in scheduling patients, checking patients out, and taking patient payments
