**Position Overview**

The Milken Mart Associate (Part-Time) reports to the Food Service Manager and supports the afternoon and after-school operations of Milken Food Service, serving students in grades 6–12. This position primarily assists with Point-of-Sale (POS) operations, customer service, stocking, replenishment, cleaning, organizing, and closing procedures.

The Milken Mart Associate (Part-Time) works with students, faculty, staff, parents, volunteers, vendors, and guests to help provide efficient, safe, and welcoming food service during the afternoon and after-school hours. This position helps maintain product availability, supports after-school programs and events, and prepares food service locations for the following school day.

While this role is primarily focused on afternoon support and closing operations, the Associate may be trained in other areas of food service operations to support departmental needs.

**Responsibilities**

  • Support afternoon and after-school food service operations across campus locations.
  • Provide excellent customer service to students, faculty, staff, parents, and guests.
  • Operate Point of Sale (POS) systems and assist with credit card and account transactions.
  • Restock, replenish, organize, and merchandise food, beverages, Grab & Go items, and retail products.
  • Receive, unpack, organize, stock, and rotate products using First-In, First-Out (FIFO) procedures as needed.
  • Maintain clean, organized storage areas, refrigerators, freezers, shelves, carts, and service locations.
  • Monitor product availability and communicate supply or inventory needs. Assist with after-school programs, meetings, events, and other operational needs as assigned.
  • Transport products, supplies, equipment, and inventory between campus locations as needed.
  • Utilize email, POS systems, inventory software, and other technology tools to support daily operations and communication.
  • Maintain compliance with food safety, sanitation, workplace safety, and allergen-labeling requirements.
  • Perform closing procedures and prepare food service locations for the following school day.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and welcoming food service environments. Foster a service-oriented environment that reflects the mission and values of Milken Community School.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**

  • ServSafe Food Handler Certified or the ability to obtain certification upon hire. Previous experience in food service, hospitality, retail, customer service, or educational environments preferred; training will be provided for qualified candidates.
  • Strong customer service, communication, organizational, and teamwork skills. Ability to interact professionally and respectfully with students, faculty, staff, parents, vendors, volunteers, and guests.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including email, POS systems, inventory software, and other workplace technology, or willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work independently, follow directions, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, professionalism, and commitment to maintaining a positive work environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment while working in a school environment.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain eligibility to operate school vehicles, golf carts, and other approved vehicles in accordance with school policies.

**Physical Requirements**

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday. Ability to bend, reach, push, pull, lift, carry, and move products, supplies, and equipment as needed.
  • Ability to lift and carry products, supplies, and equipment weighing up to 40 pounds and move heavier items with assistance or appropriate equipment. Ability to travel between campus locations and safely operate a golf cart, school vehicle, and other approved vehicles, as required.

**Standard On-Campus Hours**

Part-Time Milken Mart Associates may be assigned to the following schedule

  • Afternoon / Closing Shift: Monday - Thursday 2:30PM - 6:30PM; Friday 11:00AM - 3:00PM OR 11:30AM - 3:30PM
  • Hours may vary based on operational needs and may include earlier start times, evenings, special events, and occasional Sundays.
  • All schedules are subject to change.

## **Salary Range:** $20.00 - $23.00 (Per Hour)
