Hot Inspector

## Description

**SUMMARY**

The Hot Inspector makes initial forging inspection for proper conformation to blue print and to detect flaws or faulty workmanship and/or dimensions before further processing. The Hot Inspector may recommend, when required, that necessary corrections be made to ensure proper manufacture during forging.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES** (and other duties as assigned)

• Check forgings for customer requirements.
• Verify latest blueprint revisions and work with Forge Supervisor to correct discrepancies.
• Verify any special inspection instructions are being conducted per the forging method.
• Coordinate any additional further in process inspection with other departments (i.e. NDT/Grind, Final Inspection, etc.)
• Perform inspection to ensure part integrity and conduct process control tests to ensure system performance.
• Interpret inspection findings to the applicable specification/standard, techniques, and drawings.
• Record all applicable data as required, accurately and in a timely manner.
• Control inspection certification stamp.
• All other duties as assigned.
• Candidates must successfully pass Hot Inspector exam

**PRE-REQUISITE:**Pass Jaeger 1 visual acuity exam
