At Saint Francis High School, athletics are an integral part of our mission to educate the whole person. Rooted in our Holy Cross tradition, the Softball program is built upon the foundational values of effort, teamwork, and sportsmanship. We cultivate student-athletes who compete with passion, lead with integrity, support one another with humility, and represent our school with pride.

The Head Varsity Softball Coach serves as the program's leader, responsible for creating an environment where every student-athlete is challenged to grow academically, spiritually, athletically, and personally. This role extends far beyond coaching games; it is an opportunity to mentor youth, foster meaningful relationships, and build a program that reflects the core mission of Saint Francis High School.

Lead a Unified Program: Establish and communicate a clear philosophy that unites every level of the program, from freshman to senior year. Ensure consistency in player development, coaching philosophy, and competitive culture. Recruit, develop, and mentor assistant coaches who embrace a student-centered approach.

Develop the Whole Person: Support each student-athlete’s academic success, personal well-being, and leadership development in partnership with families, faculty, and school leadership. Through prayer, service, and daily mentorship, help athletes become compassionate servant-leaders both on and off the field.

Build a Culture of Excellence: Design and execute a comprehensive, year-round player development model (preseason, in-season, and summer programming). Define success not just by wins, but by purposeful preparation, disciplined habits, resilient teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Steward the Program: Provide strategic and operational leadership for all facets of the program. In partnership with the Athletic Director, oversee budgeting, scheduling, staffing, equipment, compliance, transportation, and camps. Maintain the highest standards of professionalism and ensure compliance with school, league, CIF, and state regulations.

Strengthen the Saint Francis Community: Act as a school ambassador by cultivating relationships with families, alumni, youth leagues, and the broader softball community. Create connection points through summer camps and family events, while supporting student-athletes who aspire to play at the collegiate level.

Model Lifelong Learning: Demonstrate a commitment to professional growth through ongoing education, required certifications, peer collaboration, and the adoption of innovative coaching practices.
