**Position Title:** Accounting Office EOP Intern

**Employment Status:** Student Intern (SUNY EOP Internship)

**Department:** Business Office

**Supervisor:** Finance Manager

**Position Summary**

This internship provides hands-on experience in accounting processes, financial recordkeeping, administrative support, and business operations. The internship is structured to meet SUNY Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) experiential learning requirements, integrating supervised work experience with defined learning outcomes.

**Time Commitment & Hour Requirements**

  • Weekly Hours: 10–15 hours per week
  • Total Hours: Approximately 150–180 hours per semester (aligned with SUNY EOP and academic credit expectations)
  • Work schedule determined in coordination with supervisor
  • **Responsibilities**
  • Assist with data entry and maintenance of financial records
  • Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
  • Help prepare spreadsheets, reports, and financial summaries
  • Maintain confidentiality of financial and company information
  • Assist with payroll-related administrative tasks as assigned
  • Support month-end and year-end accounting activities
  • Perform general administrative and clerical duties
  • **Qualifications**
  • Current EOP student with an accounting or business major
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information

**Supervision & Evaluation**
The intern will receive ongoing supervision and mentoring from the Finance Manager or designee.
A mid-semester and final evaluation will assess progress toward learning outcomes.
The intern may complete a reflection or summary of learning in alignment with EOP requirements.
