# **Special Education Teacher**

We are seeking a dedicated **Special Education Teacher** to join our Maryland‑approved nonpublic school serving students with diverse and intensive learning needs. ## **Position Summary**

The Special Education Teacher provides high‑quality, individualized instruction to students with disabilities in a structured, supportive nonpublic school environment. This role ensures instruction aligns with **IEP goals, Maryland College and Career Ready Standards, COMAR regulations, and MSDE nonpublic school requirements**. Teachers collaborate closely with clinical, behavioral, and academic teams to create safe, engaging classrooms where students can thrive academically, socially, and behaviorally.

## **What You’ll Do**

  • Deliver **differentiated instruction** aligned to IEP goals and state standards
  • Design engaging lesson plans and instructional materials tailored to diverse learners
  • Implement accommodations, modifications, and specialized instructional strategies
  • Apply and support **Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)** and schoolwide behavior systems
  • Maintain accurate academic, behavioral, and compliance documentation (MSDE/COMAR)
  • Conduct ongoing assessment and progress monitoring to guide instruction
  • Participate in IEP meetings, progress reviews, and multidisciplinary team meetings
  • Collaborate closely with clinical, behavioral, and educational staff
  • Communicate effectively with families, LEAs, and internal teams
  • Create and maintain a **safe, structured, and positive classroom environment**
  • Engage in professional development and apply evidence‑based best practices

## **Qualifications**

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education required; Master’s degree preferred
  • Valid **Maryland Educator License in Special Education**
  • Knowledge of **IDEA, COMAR, and MSDE nonpublic school expectations**
  • Experience working with students with emotional disabilities, autism, or intensive needs preferred

Salary range of 60- 70 K commensurate with experience and active MSDE license.
