## Description
William Douglas Management is seeking a Regional Director to join our incredibly talented Community Association Management team in South Carolina. The Regional Director is responsible for overseeing and optimizing operations in the Charleston, Columbia and Myrtle Beach regions. This role requires strong leadership skills, a strategic mindset, and the ability to balance day-to-day management with long-term growth objectives. This role requires a strategic thinker who can balance day-to-day management with long-term growth objectives, while ensuring consistent delivery of exceptional customer service and maintaining company standards. The Regional Director will be responsible for setting performance goals, managing budgets, and executing marketing strategies, all while maintaining a collaborative and productive work environment.
The Regional Director reports directly to the Vice President of Community Management of the region. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a proven track record of driving sales, improving operational efficiency, and fostering high-performing teams. This role requires a strategic thinker who can balance day-to-day management with long-term growth objectives, while ensuring consistent delivery of exceptional customer service and maintaining company standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities, include but are not limited to
- Support, coach, and oversee Community Managers to ensure consistent service delivery and operational excellence
- Conduct daily team check-ins and maintain an open-door environment for staff
- Follow up on escalated emails, phone calls, billing concerns, hardships, account holds, and after-hours issues
- Review and approve meeting notices, invoices, credit card charges, expenses, mileage, PTO, missed punches, and out-of-office communications
- Monitor team performance, addressing concerns with Community Managers as needed
- Ensure invoices, financial packets, and other key deliverables are completed accurately and on time
- Lead weekly Community Manager meetings, gather team input, and follow up on action items
- Conduct training and support sessions for new hires and existing team members
- Ensure Community Managers follow up on RFPs and use only approved, qualified vendors
- Recognize and encourage team members through company recognition programs and other appreciation efforts
- Review and communicate approved process changes, ensuring successful rollout and adoption by the team
- Conduct monthly one-on-one meetings with team members to provide coaching, support, and consistency
- Review upcoming contract renewals and proactively communicate with board members
- Manage incoming contracts and evaluate Community Manager portfolio availability for assignments
- Proactively contact board members to gather feedback, assess satisfaction, and follow up on improvement items
- Support board, annual, and association meetings as needed, with emphasis on large associations
- Stay involved with internally transitioned accounts for the first 60–90 days, when applicable
- Identify team training needs and conduct monthly training based on feedback and business needs
- Review association websites, financial packets, portfolio alignment, and operational standards with Community Managers
- Conduct monthly site drives to inspect quality and provide feedback
- Monitor vendor compliance and address any use of unqualified vendors
- Review change project implementations and provide feedback to leadership
- Plan and execute monthly site management meetings, when applicable
- Follow up on board survey feedback, create action items, and ensure completion
- Coordinate approved vendor learning presentations
- Meet with new Community Managers quarterly to gather feedback on training, challenges, and support needs
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Travel
Travel is primarily to the Charleston, Columbia and Myrtle Beach business units during the business day, although some out-of-the-area travel and overnight travel may be expected.
Required Experience and Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in a similar role or as a Community Manager.
- High School diploma required; college degree preferred.
- Must have a strong working knowledge of customer service principles and practices.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, leases, regulations, or documents with a similar degree of complexity.
- Must be proficient and have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications.
- Must have a valid Driver’s license.
- Employees are sometimes required to work for extended periods of time; being flexible in the hours which could include nights and weekends.
- Must have the ability to react and address all emergency situations in a timely manner.
