The Accounting Manger plays a crucial role in supporting and oversees the accounting aspects of our non-profit education organization. The Accounting Manager supports accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulations, and contributes to the overall sustainability of our mission.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Management:
- Manage all day-to-day accounting activities, including budget variance analysis.
- Oversee the financial operations of the organization, ensuring accuracy and compliance with non-profit financial regulations.
- Financial Reporting:
- Manage timely month-end close.
- Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Budget Management:
- Monitor budget vs. actual performance and provide recommendations for adjustments.
- Grants and Funding:
- Assist in grant applications and reporting to secure funding for child development and trade tech programs.
- Ensure compliance with grant requirements and financial reporting.
- Prepare Quarterly State reports for State Funding
- Audit and Compliance:
- Support annual audits with external auditors and ensure compliance with all regulatory and tax obligations.
- Adhere to and maintain internal controls and financial policies.
- Financial Strategy:
- Contribute to the development of financial strategies and goals to support the organization's mission and long-term sustainability.
- Team Leadership:
- Supervise and provide leadership to the accounting and finance team.
- Foster a collaborative and professional work environment.
## Qualifications
**Qualifications**
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree or CPA is preferred.
- Proven experience in non-profit financial management, with a minimum of 3 years in a senior financial role preferred.
- Strong knowledge of non-profit accounting and compliance standards.
- Experience with the California Preschool Accounting Reporting Information system (CPARIS)
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of managers and other employees of the organization.
- Experience with child enrollment reporting requirements tied to state funding.
- Excellent financial analysis and reporting skills.
- Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
