**Job Overview**

The Plant Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing the rock screening plant and heavy equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous production. This role plays a critical part in minimizing downtime, improving equipment performance, and supporting overall plant operations. The position may also be required to report to other company sites as needed to provide coverage and support operations.

Locations in Montgomery, Clanton, and surrounding areas.

**Responsibilities**

  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures at all times
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on the rock screening plant and heavy equipment
  • Monitor operating temperatures and performance of components including bearings, motors, gearboxes, and pumps
  • Inspect and adjust belt tension on V-belts and conveyor systems
  • Maintain proper screen tension and replace screens as needed
  • Repair and replace rubber skirting and other wear components
  • Inspect, adjust, and maintain pulleys, rollers, idlers, bearings, and shafts
  • Conduct daily equipment inspections and accurately document findings
  • Ensure proper greasing of all equipment and components
  • Collaborate with management to plan and schedule preventative maintenance
  • Identify required parts and materials in advance and coordinate with the appropriate team to ensure timely ordering and availability for scheduled maintenance; verify all parts, tools, and materials are on-site and ready the day prior to maintenance
  • Inspect, monitor, and maintain water pumps and water levels to ensure proper function, prevent downtime, and support continuous plant operations
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and basic electrical issues as needed
  • Perform welding and fabrication tasks when required
  • Perform other duties as assigned

## Qualifications
**Qualifications**

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Experience in plant maintenance and heavy equipment maintenance required
  • Ability to operate heavy equipment
  • Basic electrical troubleshooting experience preferred
  • Welding and fabrication skills required
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends as needed

**Physical Qualifications**

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally
  • Frequent bending, squatting, kneeling, reaching, twisting, and climbing
  • Good hand-eye coordination for operating equipment controls
  • Good vision, including depth perception, to assess distances and hazards
  • Ability to hear instructions and equipment operation sounds
