**Description**

The Manufacturing Engineer Intern supports Manufacturing Engineering activities to integrate, improve, and sustain manufacturing systems and processes, with a focus on **extrusion processing, production, and validation**. This role provides hands‑on exposure to continuous improvement, process optimization, and cross‑functional collaboration within a regulated manufacturing environment.

  • **Key Responsibilities**
  • Assist with **Manufacturing Engineering projects** as assigned.
  • Support **Lean / Six Sigma** and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in hands‑on process improvement activities, applying basic engineering concepts to optimize manufacturing processes.
  • Support the **Validation team** in transitioning new programs to production, including manufacturing lines, secondary operations, and production planning.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining **manufacturing specifications and documentation**, including work instructions and process guides.
  • Work with Manufacturing to help communicate and reinforce key **technical and process requirements**.
  • Partner with **Quality Assurance** to support product compliance and investigate quality concerns.
  • Participate in **NCR, CAPA, and Continuous Improvement meetings** as required.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams at the Pleasant Prairie site.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

## Qualifications
**Qualifications**

  • Currently enrolled in an **Engineering degree program** (Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, or related).
  • Working knowledge of **basic inspection and measurement equipment**.
  • Basic proficiency with **PC‑based tools** (e.g., Excel, documentation systems).
  • Strong interest in manufacturing processes, continuous improvement, and problem solving.

**Work Environment & Physical Demands**

  • Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to **25 pounds**.
  • Work performed in **office, production, and warehouse environments**.
  • May work near moving mechanical parts and be exposed to wet or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, and noise levels requiring hearing protection.
