## Description

**Job Summary**: The Junior Ice Skating Instructor will be responsible for assisting the Lead Instructor with teaching recreational beginner skating classes, with safety and technique as the primary focus.

**Supervisory Responsibilities**

  • None

**Essential Duties/Responsibilities**

  • Help teach participants in the program from age 3-18 years old
  • Follow class curriculum as provided by class instructor/supervisor
  • Learn information about Ice Skating programs
  • Attend staff meetings as scheduled
  • Work collaboratively with other staff as needed
  • Be a positive role model for students
  • Help with motivational support and guidance to participants
  • Actively support the agencys risk management protocol that will effectively control and reduce accidents
  • Obey the practical safety rules, regulations and procedures established by the Safety Committee, attend and participate in required safety trainings
  • Promptly report all unsafe actions, practices or conditions to the immediate supervisor
  • Perform other related duties as assigned, based on agency needs

  • Strong leadership skills
  • Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Ability to take initiative and use good judgement in responding to situations that arise
  • Ability to take direction and adapt to the work environment

**Education and/or Experience**

  • Must be at least 15 years of age
  • Must have experience in ice skating at an advanced level

**Physical Requirements/Work Environment**

  • Ability to perform all physical aspects of the position including standing, bending, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crawling, and lifting
  • Exposure to cleaning and disinfecting supplies
  • Exposure to noise and cold temperature
