### Job Description

The General Teacher is a **fully professional role** responsible for delivering a robust and thoughtful curriculum, ensuring student learning and emotional growth in a core content area (e.g., Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies, General Studies).

This position includes

• **Instruction:** Planning and delivering engaging, student-centered lessons that reflect a commitment to progressive teaching methods and content mastery.
• **Curriculum Development:** Individually and collectively contributing to the **creation and refinement of the curriculum**.
• **Student Support:** Building strong, authentic relationships with students, serving as a mentor and guide for their academic and social-emotional development.
• **Collaboration:** Actively collaborating within a **grade-level or divisional team** and with specialist (studio) teachers to create interdisciplinary and integrated learning experiences.
• **Communication:** Maintaining **effective and proactive communication** with parents regarding student progress and partnership in education.
