About The Role
## Description
## Position Summary
The Floor Hand is responsible for supporting the daily operations of Lazy E Arena by preparing the arena for events, maintaining facilities and equipment, caring for livestock, and ensuring a safe and efficient environment for staff, contestants, and guests.
## Duties & Responsibilities
- Safely operate tractors, skid steers, water trucks, drags, and other equipment used in arena operations.
- Prepare and maintain arena footing by watering, dragging, grading, and repairing the arena surface before, during, and after events.
- Set up, adjust, and remove panels, gates, chutes, fencing, and other arena equipment for rodeos, horse shows, livestock events, and special events.
- Coordinate with event producers and arena staff to ensure the arena is properly prepared and event schedules are maintained.
- Feed, water, handle, and assist with the movement of livestock while monitoring for safety concerns.
- Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance on arena equipment, vehicles, and facilities; report repair needs to management.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the arena, barns, stalls, pens, and surrounding grounds.
- Follow established safety procedures while operating equipment and working around livestock and the public.
- Assist with other operational duties as assigned to support arena activities and events.
## Qualifications
- Experience operating tractors, skid steers, or similar equipment preferred.
- Experience working with horses, cattle, or other livestock preferred.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, and weekend as needed.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a strong commitment to safety.
## Physical Requirements
- Frequently lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
- Stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, push, and pull for extended periods.
- Work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, dust, and uneven terrain.
- Safely perform physically demanding work around heavy equipment and livestock.
