We're seeking a Full-Time Medication Aide to join our healthcare team at the Marathon County Jail. This position offers a consistent evening schedule, full benefits, and the chance to work alongside a supportive medical team serving an often-overlooked patient population.
š Location: Marathon County Jail | Wisconsin
š Schedule: 12:30 PM ā 11:00 PM
š Full-Time | Three 10-Hour Shifts Per Week | Includes Every Other Weekend
š„ About the Role
As a Medication Aide, you play a vital role in ensuring patients receive safe, timely, and accurate medication administration. You'll work in a structured healthcare environment where attention to detail, professionalism, and teamwork help support positive patient outcomes every day.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer medications according to physician orders and established protocols
- Monitor patients for medication effectiveness and adverse reactions
- Maintain accurate documentation and medication records
- Assist nursing staff with patient care activities as directed
- Follow all facility policies, procedures, and safety standards
- Support continuity of care through clear communication and teamwork
## Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Current CPR certification preferred (or ability to obtain)
- Medication Aide certification preferred but not required
- Willingness to obtain Certified Medication Aide (CMA) certification after hire
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safe medication practices
- Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team
- Healthcare, long-term care, or correctional experience preferred, but not required
