We're seeking a **Physician, Nurse Practitioner, or Physician Assistant** to provide high-quality medical care at the Surry County Detention Center. This **independent contract opportunity** is ideal for an experienced provider looking to supplement their practice while making a meaningful difference in an underserved patient population.

### 🩺 What You'll Do

• Conduct routine medical evaluations and address acute healthcare concerns
• Assess, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for patients within your scope of practice
• Provide chronic disease management and appropriate follow-up care
• Review nursing assessments, laboratory results, and diagnostic findings
• Prescribe medications and treatments in accordance with facility protocols and state regulations
• Collaborate with nursing staff to ensure continuity and quality of patient care
• Provide clinical guidance and support to the onsite healthcare team
• Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical documentation
• Promote quality improvement initiatives while ensuring compliance with correctional healthcare standards

## Qualifications
### ✅ Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted North Carolina license as a **Physician (MD/DO), Nurse Practitioner, or Physician Assistant**
• Current DEA registration, if applicable to licensure
• Active BLS certification
• Ability to work independently and make sound clinical decisions
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
• Correctional, emergency, family practice, or primary care experience is preferred but not required
• Must successfully complete a background check, drug screening, and facility credentialing requirements
